When we first came to Melbourne, we didn’t expect to find each other — let alone build a business together. But after trying almost every dating app out there, one thing became clear: dating apps weren’t working. They were either too casual, too crowded, or just not made for people looking for something real.

So, we decided to do something about it. We turned dating into a business — one that benefits everyone involved. We created a better app. One that fixed what others got wrong. An app built for genuine connection, not just endless swipes. Something smarter, more intentional, and grounded in authenticity.

As dating gets more frustrating, we’re here to offer a better way.

We named it Shabyar — from the Persian words “Shab” meaning night and “Yar” meaning companion. Together, it means “night companion.”

It’s about those deep, late-night conversations. The comfort of real connection. The kind of presence that stays when the world quiets down. Because Shabyar isn’t just another dating app — it’s the one that should’ve existed from the start.
